Fall 2009 season will be full of furs again. In spite of the financial crisis designers never quit designing furs and fur fans never quit wearing them. Luxury does not care about the crisis actually. They use both real and faux fur in much more creative and elaborate ways each season.
On the runways for Fall 2009, we have seen that several designers used furs in numerous ways for their collections. Especially, European runways were also full of real fur. It is said that huge fur companies provided free furs to some designers to encourage fur production. Some fur coats but mostly strips and fur accessories especially on arms were noticed.

The most eye-catching fur designs of Fall 2009 fashion shows were Versace blue fur coat, cropped fur jacket by Ferrragamo and fur coat by Fendi with wide sleeves. The fur coats of Jean-Paul Gaultier were reminding 80’s. Alexander McQueen fur coats were also interesting. Gucci and Dolce&Gabbana hadmany fur designs, too. Ralph Lauren presented a white fur while Marios Schwab preferred a bright blue fur. Matthew Williamson was another name who used colored furs.

Karl Lagrfield’s Fall 2009 show was a proof that fashion is an amazing thing! He used fur in his collection but in a crazy way! He covered motorbike helmets with fur! The helmets covered with mink and chinchilla have also iPod pockets inside. He also used fur-lines on the shoulders of the garments, giving them a Medieval appearance.

Another crazy thing noticed on the runways was the huge fur sleeves of garments. Almost all designers such as Roberto Cavalli, Alexander McQueen, Ferragamo and Dolce& Gabanna added fur sleeves to jackets and coats. Dolce &Gabanna pink fur sleeves was a remarkable example of this.

Another attractive style was the fox fur coat by Michael Kors. Neon trend of this summer appears in the Fall 2009 collections such as pink, orange, lime neon fur coats of Michale Kors.

Strong appearance of furs was also found in Miu Miu collection. Mostly fur stoles with skirts and fur jackets with long hair were preferred. Miu Miu fur jackets will draw the attention of young generation.
